Duo Aart Strootman and Liset Pennings
Aart Strootman and Liset Pennings met during their music studies at the Fontys Conservatorium in Tilburg, the Netherlands, where they both graduated with the result Cum Laude.
Aart and Liset started to play together as a duo (guitar/flute) in 2013.
Their repertoire contains some interesting pieces. One of them is FAS (For Aart Strootman). This piece by the composer Anthony Fiumara was specially written for the final exam of Aart Strootman. FAS is based on Gregorian melodies and minimal music.
Another beautiful piece on their programme is a transcription of the pianowork 'six pieces froides' by Erik Satie for flute and guitar. The transcription is made by Aart himself.
Other pieces on their repertoire are 'Suite Buenos Aires' by Pujol, 'Romanian dances' by Bartok and 'l'aube enchantée' by Ravi Sankar.
