Biography
Liset is a frequent asked flutist playing with many orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad.
Liset was offered trials for some outstanding orchestras, such as:
London Philharmonic Orchestra, principal flute (2013/14)
Welsh National Opera, subprincipal flute and piccolo (2011/12, 2014/15)
BBC National Orchestra of Wales, subprincipal flute and piccolo (2009/2014)
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, principal piccolo (2011/12)
As a guest flutist she plays regularly with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Metropole Orchestra, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and The Ballet Orchestra.
She also played abroad with major orchestras such as London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Flemish Philharmonic and Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
In 2011/2012 Liset toured around the world with the Johan Strauss Orchestra - André Rieu.
Liset won many prizes, including the 2nd prize of the European Competition for flute, the first prize of the Jonathan Myall Piccolo Competition and was rewarded the Chris Taylor Flute Prize (2010) and the Leverhulme Orchestral Mentor Scholarship (2010).
She has also given numerous solo performances and has been performing in famous concert halls, like the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Kings Place in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Tonhall in Zürich, working with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Mark Elder, Vasily Petrenko, Vladimir Jurowski and Trevor Pinnock.
Besides her orchestral playing, Liset has a great passion for chamber music, working with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Collegium Novum Zürich.
From 2018 until 2021 Liset held a teaching position for flute at the Conservatory of Tilburg.
Liset began her flute studies at the Fontys Conservatorium as a student of Leon Berendse, and she graduated in 2008 with distinction.
Liset completed her Master's degree at the Royal Academy of Music (June 2010) in London with distinction, learning with William Bennett and Karen Jones, and was awarded the Dip RAM for an outstanding Final Exam.
